Firefly is a founder-led creative studio built on the belief that communication should be clear, relevant, and effective. The studio is led by experienced professionals and supported by a network of collaborators brought together according to the needs of each project. This approach allows us to remain flexible while maintaining direct involvement throughout the creative process.

Founder & Creative Lead

Soumitra Bhattacharya

Soumitra Bhattacharya is a communication designer, photographer, filmmaker, educator, and craft researcher with over twenty-five years of professional experience across advertising, design, publications, photography, film, and communication. He began his career in advertising with TBWA India and later worked as Design Manager at Human Factors International (USA), where he was involved in interaction design and user experience projects for international clients.

In 2003, he founded Firefly in Mumbai as an independent creative practice working across identity design, publications, campaigns, photography, films, websites, exhibitions, and communication projects. Over the years, he has worked with organisations across healthcare, education, development, hospitality, government, culture, and corporate sectors.

Alongside professional practice, Soumitra has remained actively involved in design education, visual culture, photography, and craft research. His work often explores the relationship between people, place, culture, memory, and communication. His current doctoral research focuses on the Ringaal craft traditions of Uttarakhand and the role of design in supporting livelihoods while preserving cultural identity.

Creative Strategist & Brand Consultant

Mousim Mitra

Mousim Mitra brings extensive experience across advertising, communication strategy, creative development, and brand consulting. Over the course of his career, he has worked with leading agencies including GREY, JWT, O&M, Bates, and Idiom, contributing to communication programmes and campaigns for organisations across multiple sectors.

His strength lies in simplifying complex ideas, sharpening communication, and helping organisations develop clear and meaningful messaging. At Firefly, Mousim contributes across communication strategy, campaign development, conceptualisation, writing, and creative direction. Alongside his professional work, he also pursues painting and independent visual exploration.
